DogTools dog collar - The Smart Way to Protect Flea Collars

The DogTools collar is a clever solution for protecting flea collars against ticks, fleas, and lice. The flea collar is inserted into the DogTools cover, shielding it from external elements like weather conditions and direct contact with other animals or people – especially children.

A flea collar has to endure a lot: rain, sun, cold, rolling in sand, bushes, and playing with other animals that may chew on it. All this can reduce the effectiveness and lifespan of the collar. By integrating the flea collar into our DogTools collar, it is better protected – keeping your dog optimally safe from ticks, fleas, and lice.

Flea and tick collars are formulated to be safe for both animals and humans. Still, it’s best to minimize direct contact – especially with children. The DogTools collar reduces this contact significantly, since the flea collar sits between the fur/skin and the outer DogTools collar.

Practical

A flea collar on its own isn’t always quick or easy to remove. But since it's threaded through loops in the DogTools collar, you can now remove it in seconds 👍 Super handy if your dog is regularly brushed, bathed, or trimmed.

The materials used are stainless steel, and the nylon strap is easy to clean and dries quickly. There is also a small ring for attaching your dog’s tag.

The collar is compatible with most standard flea collars.

Of course, it also looks great! Pair the DogTools collar with the DogTools harness and leash – for the full set of comfortable “tools” for you and your dog. Go for a matching look or mix and match cheerful colors and patterns.

Size Guide

To find the right size, measure your dog’s neck circumference with a flexible tape measure. Make sure the tape is not too tight – there should be enough room to comfortably slide two fingers between the tape and your dog’s neck.

Size Neck circumference
S 23–31 cm
M 29–42 cm
M/L 37–47 cm
L 39–63 cm
XL 60 cm+

The collar is adjustable, which is why each size has a range.

Is your dog still growing and close to the upper limit? Then choose the next size up.

How to Use

Step 1: First, adjust the DogTools collar so it fits comfortably around your dog’s neck. Use the buckles (see arrows). Always make sure two fingers fit loosely between the collar and your dog’s neck. If not, loosen it a bit.

Step 2: Remove the flea collar from its packaging and slide it through the loops of the DogTools collar until you reach the marked point.

Step 3: Distribute the small loops evenly across the flea collar (see arrows).

Step 4: Cut off the excess part of the flea collar where the DogTools collar is fully covered.

Your collar is now ready to use! Don’t forget to wash your hands afterwards!

Important Note

We strongly advise against attaching a leash to the collar, as this puts pressure on the dog’s throat and windpipe. Instead, use our anti-pull harness, which distributes pressure safely across the dog’s sturdy chest.

Due to the anti-slip structure of some flea collars, they may not slide easily through the DogTools collar. Do not use force, as this could damage the loops. Carefully and slowly slide the flea collar through.
