In the photo, you can see the our DogTools harness compared to a standard anti-pull harness. It's clearly soft around the body and doesn’t pinch into the armpits. It allows your dog full freedom of movement.
No More Pulling
The leash attaches at the front of the chest. This naturally redirects your dog to the side and stops the pulling. With a gentle cue through the leash, your dog can learn to walk calmly beside you.
Unlike collars, which put constant pressure on the windpipe and throat, the pressure here is distributed over the dog’s strong chest and torso, making it a safer way to correct pulling behaviour.
Practical Features
The loop on the back allows you to hold your dog quickly and safely. The ring is perfect for temporary restraint – for example, in the car, while jogging, or cycling (Important: never attach the leash to the front in these cases!).
The harness features a sturdy buckle with an extra safety lock. We recommend using this when traveling by car, as it prevents the harness from coming loose in case of sudden stops.
Thanks to its simple design, the harness is easy to put on and take off. No complicated parts to thread through the legs or multiple straps to deal with.
In this video, Joe shows how easy it is (don’t forget to turn on subtitles!).

Finding the Right Size
Dogs come in all shapes and sizes – even within the same breed. That’s why we recommend measuring your dog’s chest with a soft measuring tape.
Measure while your dog is standing, directly behind the front legs, from shoulder to shoulder. The tape shouldn’t be too tight – you should be able to fit a hand underneath.
If your dog has a long coat, consider choosing the next size up for a more comfortable and better-fitting look.
Size Guide – by Chest Measurement
Size | Chest Circumference |
---|---|
XS | 32–35 cm |
XS/S | 32–43 cm |
S | 42–50 cm |
S/M | 44–63 cm |
M | 51–70 cm |
M/L | 61–83 cm |
L | 66–92 cm |
L/XL | 73–102 cm |
XL | 76–114 cm |
XXL | >114 cm |
As you can see, each size has some adjustment range to ensure a great fit. (Watch our instructional video and enable subtitles!)
If your dog is right between sizes or near the lower or upper end of a size, consider the following:
Long coat? → Choose one size larger
Still growing? → Choose one size larger
Fully grown and stable in size? → Choose the smaller option
Why Choose DogTools?
Here’s why we believe in this harness:
Expert-Designed: Created by experienced veterinarians and dog trainers who are also dog parents – with the highest standards for comfort and safety.
Comfortable Fit: No awkward straps under the armpits like many other harnesses. Ours fits snugly around the chest, without rubbing or squeezing.
Freedom of Movement: The ergonomic shape allows your dog to move freely – running, jumping, swimming, rolling – while keeping both of you safe and relaxed.
Easy to Use: Slips over the head, one strap to close. Easy for you and your dog. Washable with soap, quick-drying, rust-free hardware.
Training-Friendly: The front leash attachment distributes force across the strong chest – no injuries. The position helps train dogs to stop pulling on their own.
